Recently I had the opportunity to go to Hidden Villa in the Los Altos Hills with a group of students from one of the schools I work with. A dozen of us carpooled through urban neighborhoods, past the big office buildings of high-tech companies and finally down the narrow, twisty, green road up to the wilderness and farmland of this sweet 1600 acre oasis in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The students hopped around with anticipation, jumped off stumps, balanced on logs, yipped with glee, squealed with excitement… some had never been on a farm or in the woods. Lucky us, it was a beautiful sunny day AND there were lots of baby farm animals!
Kauila and Kyli were special guests (and models!), too. Despite having a sniffly cold, Kauila made friends with all the animals — it was his first time on a farm, too!
